Information We Receive
A query entered into a third-party search box is sent to the provider that operates the tool and is governed by that provider’s policy. We may receive information that a person voluntarily includes in a contact message. Servers, analytics services, and advertising services may automatically collect technical data such as IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location, and timestamps. Cookies and similar storage can remember preferences, measure use, support advertising, and help the service function.
How Information Is Used
Collected data may be used to operate and protect the service, respond to messages, understand traffic, improve content about Merced County public-record sources, prevent abuse, diagnose errors, and measure advertising or partner referrals. Contact information is used to address the message and maintain any record reasonably needed for that exchange.
Cookies and Browser Choices
Cookies may come from this service or from analytics, search, and advertising providers. Browser controls can block or delete cookies, though doing so may limit features. Outside providers may offer separate privacy or advertising controls under their own policies.
When Data May Be Shared
Information may be shared with vendors that support hosting, security, analytics, search tools, and advertising networks. Those recipients use data under their own terms or to provide contracted functions. Information may also be preserved or disclosed to law enforcement, courts, or other authorities when required by a valid legal order, or when reasonably needed to protect rights, safety, systems, and users. We do not claim that search-partner data stays within this service.
Links to Other Services
Links may lead to the Merced County Sheriff, inmate inquiry, Superior Court, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, BOP, ICE, VINELink, or private search services. Their privacy rules and data practices apply after a visitor leaves this service. An outbound link does not place that destination under our control.
Data Security
Reasonable safeguards are used where practical, but no website, transmission, or storage method can be promised completely secure. Visitors should avoid sending sensitive identity documents, payment details, or confidential case information through a general contact message. Official record materials belong with the agency’s stated request channel.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly seek personal information from minors. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted data may use the Contact Us page to request review.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on applicable law, a person may ask what personal information was supplied directly, request correction or deletion, or object to certain uses. Identity verification may be required. Browser settings and provider-specific tools control many cookies and advertising choices. These requests do not alter a public record held by the Merced County Sheriff, Superior Court, CDCR, or another government office. California Public Records Act requests under Government Code §7920.000 and following sections must go to the agency that holds the government record.
Changes to This Notice
This notice may be revised as services, vendors, or legal requirements change. A revised version takes effect when posted. Continued use after posting means the current notice applies.
Privacy Questions
Questions about this notice may be sent through the Contact Us page. Custody, record, photo, and correction requests must go to the responsible government office rather than this private service.
